Leo Posted June 20, 2012 at 04:49 PM Report Posted June 20, 2012 at 04:49 PM What is the reason for not allowing reconsideration in a committee of the whole?RORN page 330, lines 11-12 A vote cannot be reconsidered in a committee of the whole, and on page 533,starting on line 4 the motion to reconsider is not listed as one of those being in order in a committee of the whole.
Guest Guest Posted June 20, 2012 at 07:20 PM Report Posted June 20, 2012 at 07:20 PM You're singling out one motion. Most motions are not in order in a committee of the whole, presumably because it defeats the purpose of it and the members of the CoH can make them after they rise and become a deliberative assembly.
