Nominating committee did not post list of executive board chosen to run for office before general meeting. At the meeting nominations were taken from the floor. Some were opposed to this and wanted the list to remain as presented. The person chosen to run for President then withdrew because someone else was nominted to also run. Is there any recourse since the nominations were not posted prior? It was an ugly scene... What are the procedures for this happening?

Not only is there no requirement in RONR that the report of the nominating committee be "posted" anywhere (it's simply presented at a meeting), nominations should always be taken from the floor.

Of course your rules may vary but, if they do, it will be up to your organization to figure out if they've been violated.

And if people do not like the people nominated, they could simply nominate another person. And if a ballot vote is not required, then that's it . If a ballot vote is required then someone could potentially be elected by write-in. And it is possible to nominate oneself unless the By-laws of the organization specifically state otherwise.

Well, presumably the list of nominees presented by the nominating committee did 'remain as presented.' Additional nominations were -- quite properly -- taken from the floor. Why was there controversy over this? Are the members not used to seeing nominations from the floor? Or were people under the (erroneous) impression that the 'list' presented by the nominating committee should be voted on as one unit?

Did the election take place, and were winners announced?

What sort of recourse do you have in mind? There are no blatant violations in what you've posted so far... but more details might help.
