kdjsd Posted August 28, 2012 at 02:14 AM Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 at 02:14 AM Our board recently approved a motion that I voted against. It will now go to our membership for a vote. I would like to speak against this motiom at the membership meeting but I'm not sure that I have the right to speak against a motion that the board has approved since I'm a board member. I've been unable to locate a clear answer in robert's rules. Thanks for your input on this issue and if you can tell me where in robert's rules this is dealt with I would greatly appreciate it. Josh Martin Posted August 28, 2012 at 02:50 AM Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 at 02:50 AM You have the right to speak against the motion. See RONR, 11th ed., pg. 528, lines 4-8. I realize the citation refers to committees, but the same principle applies.
