Guest Edgar Posted November 9, 2012 at 11:24 PM Report Share Posted November 9, 2012 at 11:24 PM If a motion has been voted on and not passed can it be brought up again in subsequent meetings until the group motioning gets it passed?Yep. It's known as "renewing" the motion. But groups don't make motions, individual members make motions. And any member can renew the motion, not just the member who made it the first time around. Rev Ed Posted November 10, 2012 at 12:50 AM Report Share Posted November 10, 2012 at 12:50 AM Of course, the motion could be referred to a Committee without any specific state to report back. That could effectively kill the motion for a few months at least (especially if a Special Committee is created with members who are likely to debate the issue for a quite a little while.)
