Chris Harrison Posted February 13, 2013 at 05:07 PM Report Share Posted February 13, 2013 at 05:07 PM RONR says that the Secretary might use a tape recorder for the purposes of drafting the minutes but the recording itself is not a substitute for the minutes. However, RONR doesn't permit nor prohibit the use of tape recorders to record the meeting (that is left to the assembly to decide for itself). Tim Wynn Posted February 13, 2013 at 07:00 PM Report Share Posted February 13, 2013 at 07:00 PM Are there any rules in Roberts Rules that address recording a meeting with a tape recorder?See RONR (11th ed.). p. 265, ll. 25-29, which alludes to the fact that such a rule would be a standing rule of the particular organization. See also RONR (11th ed.), p. 471, ll. 26-28, for the language referenced by Mr. Harrison.
