Guest Janet J Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:45 PM Report Share Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:45 PM When a president resigns and resignation has been accepted by the Board, does the president elect serve out the full unexpired term or is it temporary until the Board either approves it or elects someone else? Rev Ed Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:51 PM Report Share Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:51 PM If you have a President Elect position then the President Elect would become President but the organization's By-laws have to spell out all this out.
David A Foulkes Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:59 PM Report Share Posted March 14, 2013 at 04:59 PM When a president resigns and resignation has been accepted by the Board, does the president elect serve out the full unexpired term or is it temporary until the Board either approves it or elects someone else?If the bylaws don't specify that the President-Elect takes the vacant office of President, then the (1st) Vice President does. A vacancy would then occur in the office of the (lowest ranking) Vice President. When the President-Elect has served his full term, he would then become the President.
