Josh Martin Posted September 20, 2013 at 01:35 AM Report Share Posted September 20, 2013 at 01:35 AM If a nominee drops out of a race but has accumulated "some" electronic votes already, what happens to this votes? Can the voter cast another vote for another candidate or has their vote been "spent"? Well, for starters, absentee voting is only permitted if authorized by the bylaws. In any event, the member can change his vote if that's possible, but he can't simply cast a second vote. Assuming the votes are not changed, then they're counted as votes for that candidate just as they would be normally.
Rev Ed Posted September 20, 2013 at 02:52 AM Report Share Posted September 20, 2013 at 02:52 AM And this is an example of why 'pre-voting' is generally not accepted by RONR unless the By-laws allow for them and the rules about them are included.
