Chair of committee

During a meeting the recording secretary included a derogatory statement about the Chair of the committee in the minutes that was distributed to all committee members. What action can be taken? Can the President who is an ex-officio member of the committee who also received those draft minutes remove that person from the recording secretary position in that committee?

The personal opinion, like all personal opinions, has no business in the minutes, and it, and any other personal opinions, should be removed by the assembly when approving the minutes.  That's one action that can be taken.  Another action is the assembly's informing the secretary that her opinions have no business appearing in the minutes; and yet another action is the assembly's instructing the secretary to keep her opinions out of the minutes from now on.

And no, unless your organization's own rules give the president the authority to remove people from things, he has no such authority.
