Dan Honemann Posted March 24, 2014 at 08:53 PM Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 at 08:53 PM Is there a way to bypass quorum requirements to enable a body to conduct business at an annual meeting when the body has not been able to meet quorum for the last 5 years? No, not unless all members are present (not too likely), although if your group is incorporated, check with a lawyer to see if there isn't something in applicable law that will be of assistance. Guest Edgar Posted March 24, 2014 at 08:57 PM Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 at 08:57 PM No, not unless all members are present (not too likely) . . . Well, that was my first thought too. Though I'm not sure how unlikely it is. So, D Whiteman, what is your quorum requirement? And why have you waited five years?
Guest D Whiteman Posted March 24, 2014 at 09:21 PM Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 at 09:21 PM The association did not hold meetings until recently because of failure to reach quorum in past years. The wait was more of trying to work within organization without strife. Problem is now acute since required actions cannot be taken, The quorum was 51% of all owners many of which do not live on property or in state.
