Guest Guest Posted May 15, 2014 at 03:04 AM Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 at 03:04 AM Can a chairman of a board or President stop a board meeting if he feels it is not necessarily needed at this point even if 2/3 request a meeting. What can be done if that meeting is still held without the approval of the chairman? And who runs the meeting if chair refuses to attend that meeting? Gary c Tesser Posted May 15, 2014 at 08:40 AM Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 at 08:40 AM 1. No.2. Go ahead and hold it.3. ANYONE. You start by electing a chairman pro tem. That is, unless your chairman or president is Josef Stalin, in which case, you meekly go along with whatever he says.
Josh Martin Posted May 15, 2014 at 04:56 PM Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 at 04:56 PM And who runs the meeting if chair refuses to attend that meeting? The Vice President (or Vice Chair), if there is one and he is present. If not, the Secretary (or any member, if the Secretary is also absent) would call the meeting to order and preside over the election of a Chairman Pro Tempore, who would preside for the rest of the meeting.
