Guest Vic Posted March 30, 2015 at 04:58 PM Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 at 04:58 PM Is it true that if your organization has monthly meetings and after two consecutive months, there was no quorum present, you do not need a quorum for the third month because your organization must still be able to conduct business as usual? jstackpo Posted March 30, 2015 at 05:07 PM Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 at 05:07 PM No, not true. You need a quorum to do business at any meeting, no mater how many inquorate meetings have taken place in the past. However, check your bylaws -- some associations I have seen have a "reduced quorum" provision similar to (but not the same as) what you describe. But it is NOT in RONR. Richard Brown Posted March 30, 2015 at 05:26 PM Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 at 05:26 PM And if you are incorporated, check your state's nonprofit corporation laws. They often contain a provision for a reduced quorum requirement after one or more unsuccessful attempts at obtaining a quorum.
