Chris Harrison Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:50 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 at 08:50 PM The short answer: Tough luck for the VP.The long answer: The VP doesn't have a choice in the matter. Unless the bylaws say otherwise the VP automatically becomes President as soon as the vacancy (in the office of President) is created and there is now a vacancy for VP (RONR p. 575 ll. 9-17). If the (now) President doesn't like that he is free to resign (though I would not re-elect him as VP lest this happen again and you all are put in the same position). Gary Novosielski Posted April 14, 2015 at 02:03 PM Report Share Posted April 14, 2015 at 02:03 PM President resigns and Vice President doesn't want the position where do we go thenThe old VP is already president and you have a vacancy in the office of VP. If the new president no longer wants to be president, resignation would be in order. Then you will have two vacancies.
