Guest Kathleen Bouchard Posted July 13, 2015 at 05:55 PM Report Share Posted July 13, 2015 at 05:55 PM A resolution calling for a PH on 7-13-15 is passed. On the 7-13-15 meeting date, meeting is rescheduled to 7-20-15. Does PH need to be recalled by Council or doe PH follow rescheduled meeting date? Is this in Roberts Rules or OML? If the resolution scheduling the hearing specifies that it shall be held on 7-13-15, the fact that the meeting is rescheduled doesn't seem to affect the resolution scheduling the hearing. Public hearings are covered very briefly in RONR and this particular subject is not discussed. What your state's open meeting law may or may not say on this subject is beyond the scope of this forum. This also raises the question of how the meeting was "rescheduled," since it is not entirely clear to me that this was done legitimately. The use of passive voice obscures what actually happened, so it's difficult to answer. Meetings do not reschedule themselves. Was there a meeting held on the 7-13-15 meeting date? If not, who rescheduled? Or was it only the hearing that was rescheduled, and if so how?
