Nan_P2950 Posted July 17, 2015 at 09:14 AM Report Share Posted July 17, 2015 at 09:14 AM For the past 10 months, the secretary kept wanting to do a ballot voting in the assembly meetings. The first time, she made a move to do a ballot voting, and by unanimous consent, was granted. After that, she expected me to just grant the ballot voting. I wouldn't do it unless it was moved again. I made the right call? Then she proceed to tell me in private, that one person complained to her that there wasn't a ballot vote. She wouldn't share with me who. Shouldn't, at least, the chair/president know who?
jstackpo Posted July 17, 2015 at 11:45 AM Report Share Posted July 17, 2015 at 11:45 AM You made the right call. Unless the bylaws or rules require a ballot vote in particular situations, the default is a "regular" Aye / Nay vote. Ballot votes can be ordered by a majority vote. If the complainer doesn't want to be known, respect his/her privacy. If he/she wants a ballot vote he/she can move to have one.
