Gödel Fan Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:25 AM Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:25 AM Can you explain what you mean more? Is the idea that you have a general membership meeting, at which a 'board report' is presented? I don't imagine it would mean anything to amend the report - the report is presented and filed. Any recommendations contained in the report can be amended if moved, though.
Curiosulus Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:41 AM Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:41 AM The report should be filed as it was received. The only way I can see "amending" a report would be if it were being adopted as the report of the superior body. Even then, the original report should still be filed. Is it legal to amend a report? You'll have to ask a lawyer about that.
Hieu H. Huynh Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:41 AM Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:41 AM "A society need not endorse the report of its board, and can even decline to allow the report to be printed, or it can adopt only a part; but whatever it prints or records from the report must show any changes clearly marked." Josh Martin Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:49 AM Report Share Posted November 5, 2015 at 12:49 AM Is it legal for a body to amend a report sent from a board of the body? If the intent is to publish the report in the name of the society, then the report may be amended, but any changes must be clearly marked. Otherwise, the report itself cannot be amended, but any motions made to implement recommendations within the report may be amended.
