Golfer Posted April 30, 2016 at 08:29 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2016 at 08:29 PM If the director of a committee term is up, do the members of the committee stay on the committee? We have a board member replacement in the middle of anothers term and the members of his committee are claiming they were not told they were off the committee and claim they still are. There is no direction for committee member terms.
jstackpo Posted April 30, 2016 at 08:34 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2016 at 08:34 PM How did the committee members first get assigned to (or appointed to) the committee? How was the chairman appointed (or elected, &c.) to that job? What is the nature of the committee -- Special or Standing? See p. 490ff. for a description of the differences. How was the committee established in the first place? Answers to those questions might help us (or me) to answer your specific question.

jstackpo Posted May 1, 2016 at 01:11 AM Report Share Posted May 1, 2016 at 01:11 AM Since (p. 177, line 27) the chairman of the committee has the power to replace (or keep, of course) his committee members, it will be up to him/her to do what he/she will with respect to the current membership. Probably a good idea for the new chairman to let the current committee members know what their fates will be. The members have no (official) input to the process.
