Guest FFEMT704 Posted October 25, 2017 at 10:26 AM Report Share Posted October 25, 2017 at 10:26 AM My question is. on a rural fire district, which is funded by the tax payers. With the meetings held in a open to the public forum. a member of the dept has had their name put on the agenda and was not notified. No one from the district attempted to contact said person either by phone or by person. yet this district board spoke of this person in a public forum. jstackpo Posted October 25, 2017 at 10:57 AM Report Share Posted October 25, 2017 at 10:57 AM I'm not clear on a point: what are the consequences of having your "name put on the agenda"?
Guest FFEMT704 Posted October 25, 2017 at 12:23 PM Report Share Posted October 25, 2017 at 12:23 PM Im not looking for a consequence. my question is...is it “legal “. Or it it just not right by Roberts rules. that person was never allowed a chance to “defend” themselves or answer any questions
Dan Honemann Posted October 25, 2017 at 12:50 PM Report Share Posted October 25, 2017 at 12:50 PM Simply saying that a member has had his name "put on the agenda" doesn't mean anything at all to the average bear. In your situation, it apparently relates to some sort of disciplinary proceeding, but if so, the procedure must be spelled out in your own rules. It doesn't look like it is being conducted in accordance with anything in Robert's Rules.
