Guest lavern Posted December 30, 2017 at 04:52 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2017 at 04:52 PM I was taught in hs that the motion to refer could be qualified as to 1) to investigate and report 2) investigate and recommend or 3) investigate and act/ full power. I read through the latest version and could not find this information?
jstackpo Posted December 30, 2017 at 05:16 PM Report Share Posted December 30, 2017 at 05:16 PM The motion to "refer" is no more than a variant name of the motion to commit, or "refer to a committee". You will find gobs of information about that motion in RONR pages 168ff. Essentially, you can tell the committee to do whatever you, collectively, want it to do, not just the three specific items you mention. What "latest version" of what were you reading?
