Guest Jack Posted February 17, 2018 at 02:51 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2018 at 02:51 AM The nominating committee sent out a slate of officers a month in advance of the membership vote. It had some empty slots. They have now been filled. 1) do we vote on what was sent out and then nominate from the floor to fill the empty positions? or 2 can it be announced that the slate has been filed in the meantime and include those names on the ballot? Nominations will still be taken from the floor.
jstackpo Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:12 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:12 AM Sounds like the NomCom has been doing its job -- congratulate them! The NomCom should/will report at the election meeting the full list of their candidates. And since you know who they are, put them on the printed ballots, leaving room for possible floor nominations and even write-in votes. And no harm letting everybody know who all the candidates are ahead of time.
Guest Jack Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:24 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:24 AM This will make it easier. Since advance notice went out with empty slots we just wanted to make certain that they did not to be nominated from the floor.
Richard Brown Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:35 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2018 at 03:35 AM This all assumes, of course, that the nominating committee itself, not someone else, came up with the names of the additional nominees.
