Guest Rita Posted March 7, 2018 at 04:28 PM Report Share Posted March 7, 2018 at 04:28 PM We have some 60 members in our guild with 4 executive board members. Our bylaws do not have anything on what constitutes a quorum. We meet regularly - so if a vote is taken and there is a question on whether we have a quorum - how would this be answered? Thank you
Richard Brown Posted March 7, 2018 at 04:35 PM Report Share Posted March 7, 2018 at 04:35 PM If RONR is your parliamentary authority and your bylaws are silent as to the quorum requirement, RONR provides on page 346 that in an organization such as you have described yours it is a "majority of all the members". Here is the precise language: "In any other deliberative assembly with enrolled membership whose bylaws do not specify a quorum, the quorum is a majority of all the members."
