Guest Mae Posted March 22, 2018 at 02:39 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2018 at 02:39 PM When motions come out of executive session at a meeting, particularly dealing with sensitive personnel issues such as disciplinary actions, how are those handled or recorded in the minutes? Guest Who's Coming to Dinner Posted March 22, 2018 at 02:47 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2018 at 02:47 PM An executive session should have its own minutes, which may only be read and approved in another executive session. However, these minutes are available for inspection by any member of the body which met, whether or not that person was in attendance. Guest Zev Posted March 22, 2018 at 11:57 PM Report Share Posted March 22, 2018 at 11:57 PM Please do not forget that the vote of the assembly to produce such records is a two-thirds vote or majority of the membership if no notice has been given, or a majority if notice has been given (RONR 11th, p. 487, lines 13-20). That applies to an assembly voting for the reading of the minutes of its executive board. So far, there is no evidence that we're dealing with that situation here. No vote is required for a member of a body to have access to the minutes of that body.
