Guest Swilley Posted April 25, 2018 at 03:56 AM Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 at 03:56 AM When the Chair asks the members to review a written agenda for the meeting, and no one offers comments or objection, can the agenda be adopted without a motion based on consensus? Joshua Katz Posted April 25, 2018 at 04:54 AM Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 at 04:54 AM I don't see any reason the agenda cannot be adopted by unanimous consent, but the chair needs to ask for objections. Unlike the minutes, the assembly could fail to adopt an agenda.
jstackpo Posted April 25, 2018 at 11:29 AM Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 at 11:29 AM And, as a little reminder, RONR does not require a formal agenda for meetings at all. You just follow the standard order of business (OoB) (p. 25) without regard for what specific items (motions) may or may not come up under the appropriate OoB headings. It is very wise, however, for the chairman (with the Secretary's help) to prepare a "personal agenda" for his/her own use ahead of time. This may reduce the chances to be blindsided. And will also lead to more efficient (over within 2 hours) meetings. And the chair will look good.
