Guest K. Willson Posted October 3, 2018 at 09:23 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 at 09:23 PM Our bylaws state that nominations and a vote must be held in April for members of the nominating committee. It is silent on what to do if the election did not occur in April. Please advise on the process mandated by RONR as to whether we should conduct an election or if the president may appoint members to the nominating committee now that it is October. Thank you for your assistance.
Richard Brown Posted October 3, 2018 at 10:14 PM Report Share Posted October 3, 2018 at 10:14 PM (edited) You should conduct the selection/election asap. The President should not appoint the members. Gary Novosielski Posted October 4, 2018 at 07:31 AM Report Share Posted October 4, 2018 at 07:31 AM RONR suggests that well-written bylaws should preclude any involvement of the president in the business of the nominating committee. But that's not a rule, that's advice on good rulemaking.
