2dogs Posted February 17, 2019 at 08:10 PM Report Share Posted February 17, 2019 at 08:10 PM Hi all, if the memberships votes on something (like voting a member to active status) at a meeting. the vote was no. now at the next meeting the majority of the members will be in training, and the person that was voted no has all his friends coming to support him. so the question is, should there be a waiting period before they can bring that same vote up again to go back to active status. thank you all. No, a motion which was not adopted may be made again at subsequent sessions.
Richard Brown Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:22 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2019 at 01:22 AM I agree with Mr. Katz. Your organization is free to adopt a rule or a bylaw Amendment requiring some sort of waiting period for situations such as this, but in the absence of such a provision, a defeated motion can be renewed (made again) at each subsequent meeting (session).
