What happens in a deliberative assembly when quorum is lost but a guest speaker has come to make a presentation?  When you read actions available in Robert's Rules after loss of quorum, it doesn't sound like listening to a guest speaker continues to be possible.

Why can't you formally adjourn and stay in the room and listen to the speaker?

The loss of quorum only affects the assembly's ability to conduct actual business as specified on pages 347-348. Informing the guest speaker that he must leave and return on some future date is way too harsh. Besides, perhaps one should encourage the guest speaker to stretch his presentation and in the meantime the absent members can be contacted and by time he finishes a quorum may be available for the business portion of the meeting.

We would be looking at no business to conduct in such a situation.  Members don't leave until business finished.  Thanks for reply.
