Bruce Lages Posted December 28, 2020 at 08:53 PM Report Share Posted December 28, 2020 at 08:53 PM Nothing in RONR would prevent this. There would have to be something in your rules that addresses it.

(This would normally be the members who are eligible to vote in the election.)

If the member could nominate someone else, and if someone else could nominate him, then he can nominate himself.

Trying to answer in another way: Generally, self-nominations are fine (and are sometimes referred to as "volunteering"). The answers above are trying to make explicit some assumptions behind the general rule. 1) Is the person authorized to make a nomination for president? If Yes, go to Question 2. Otherwise No. 2) Is the person eligible to be nominated for president? If Yes, go to Question 3. Otherwise No. 3) Does your organization have any rule forbidding it? If No, the person can nominate himself. If there is such a rule, then No. By the way, nominations do not require a second, unless your organization has a rule that says otherwise.
