Caryn Ann Harlos Posted April 27, 2021 at 10:22 AM Report Share Posted April 27, 2021 at 10:22 AM I understand that it states in several places that a form of election ballot that has "for" and "against" a candidate is improper, can a specific bylaws provision override this? I am looking at a set of bylaws in which the form of ballot is specifically set forth as being able to vote yes or "not this person" for a specific candidate. Yes, bylaw provisions override any conflicting provision in RONR.

Dan Honemann Posted April 27, 2021 at 11:34 AM Report Share Posted April 27, 2021 at 11:34 AM Actually, one might say that there is never any conflict between the rules in a organization's bylaws and the rules in RONR because RONR itself says that the rules contained in the bylaws supersede those found in RONR. 🙂 RONR, 12th ed., 2:
