Guest Robert Koenitzer Posted May 24, 2022 at 06:26 PM Report Share Posted May 24, 2022 at 06:26 PM Our HOA board at an Open meeting had at the end of the Agenda an item for Discussion. After discussion there was a motion and second to take Action. I rose to a Point of Order to question the taking Action for a Discussion item. I was over ruled and the motion passed. Should Action for the Discussion item have been allowed in a non-emergency situation?

Should Action for the Discussion item have been allowed in a non-emergency situation? The members decided it should be allowed. What rule do you think was violated? The terms discussion item and action item are not defined in RONR. Are they defined in your HOA rules? RONR allows members to bring up items of new business whether they are an emergency or not.
