That's a bit confusing. After the new officers are elected, there is no more business in the election, but any other business can be conducted that would otherwise be in order. Edited to add: But things might be different if the election was being held at a special meeting called for that purpose alone. That would be somewhat uncommon. In the usual case, the election is one item of business in a meeting (often the Annual General Meeting) at which other business is in order. Josh Martin Posted August 28, 2023 at 02:05 PM Report Share Posted August 28, 2023 at 02:05 PM On 8/26/2023 at 11:27 AM, Guest Millie Herrera said: Can any new business be conducted in an election of officers after the new officers are elected? Certainly no new business can be conducted in the election of officers after the new officers are elected because there is no business relating to the election of officers left. I think what you mean to ask, however, is "Can any new business be conducted at the same meeting as the election of officers after the new officers are elected?" The answer to this question is "Yes." Additional context may be helpful.
