Guest Brenda R. Posted January 19, 2024 at 08:42 PM Report Share Posted January 19, 2024 at 08:42 PM For a club to accept votes by proxy, do the bylaws need to state proxy voting is allowed? What procedure should be followed if vote by proxy was to be allowed?

Thanks for confirming where we stand at this moment. Yes, it is incompatible with the idea and ideals of a deliberative assembly. This is why RONR prohibits proxies to the fullest extent permitted by whatever laws and regulations govern your type of society. You may amend your bylaws to use proxies but you'll have to develop the rules for their use. All things considered, you'll be sorry. Good luck.
