Guest new VP Posted January 21, 2024 at 11:17 AM Report Share Posted January 21, 2024 at 11:17 AM Does the new treasurer for a union need to take account of (once she takes over to account for all assets the office holds? example (computers, gift cards etc) that were purchased the year before to give out to members but the office still uses/holds? also as a new secretary for minutes, does the chair have the right to armed the minutes on her own or do members only make corrections? hope this makes sense. we are a new LEC and want to ensure we follow rules according to RROO. This is really a legal question, or one about how your rules distribute duties. RONR does not have a position on accounting for non-money assets. The secretary produces draft minutes, which are really just the secretary's notes. The secretary is free to share those with anyone eligible to see the minutes, or not to. If the secretary shares them with others, such as the chair, and receives suggested changes, the secretary is free to make those changes, or not. The resulting draft comes to the meeting for approval, at which time the assembly may amend them while pending.
