Guest Pat Driscoll Posted May 31, 2010 at 10:57 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 at 10:57 PM Prior to our organizations Annual meeting, the President was asked to have a motion added to the Adgenda. The President would not comply and told the person to bring it up under New Business. Was the President correct in denying the request?Thank you,Pat Driscoll
Chris Harrison Posted May 31, 2010 at 11:09 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2010 at 11:09 PM The President under RONR has no authority to add or remove anything from the agenda (the assembly adopts it with any changes at the start of the meeting). So the member could move to have it added to the agenda. Majority rules. But yes, if the members didn't agree to add it to the agenda it could be brought up in New Business.
