This motion was presented online and voting is occurring in the same manner.First, business cannot be validly conducted online unless the bylaws specifically provides for it (RONR pp. 408-409). That being said a motion can't be rescinded prior to a vote being taken on it. However, the member can request permission to withdraw the motion and a majority vote would grant such a request. (RONR 10th Ed. p. 285, ll. 14-16.) Of course, the way this is being handled (online motioning and voting) may throw the rules out the window anyway.
