Tim Wynn Posted November 4, 2010 at 02:10 PM Report Share Posted November 4, 2010 at 02:10 PM When a board member makes a motion and then it is not seconded, what is the proper way to list this in minutes? In small boards (not more than about a dozen members present), seconds are not required. See RONR(10th ed.), p. 470, l. 17-27.If your board is not subject to this rule, the motion could be entered into the minutes as: Ms. Adams moved "that an autographed copy of 'The Raven' be purchased for the library." The motion died for lack of a second.
