Guest philip Posted November 6, 2010 at 02:40 AM Report Share Posted November 6, 2010 at 02:40 AM the board of directors meeting has always been tape recorded in the past. our new president is now telling us we are no longer allowed to tape record the meetings. Is this correct according to roberts rules?
jstackpo Posted November 6, 2010 at 03:08 AM Report Share Posted November 6, 2010 at 03:08 AM RONR has no rules about taping a meeting. It is up to the members present, by majority, to control what goes on in their meeting - not the president alone. RONR does say don't use the recording as "the minutes" - p. 444. Tim Wynn Posted November 7, 2010 at 05:46 PM Report Share Posted November 7, 2010 at 05:46 PM RONR does say don't use the recording as "the minutes" - p. 444.That's the most recent page to fall out of one of my copies of RONR. Line 5-6 would seem to be a persuasive argument against the president's claim.
