Guest Clarissa Posted December 8, 2010 at 03:19 PM Report Share Posted December 8, 2010 at 03:19 PM Our city council meetings are governed by Robert's Rules of Order. At a recent meeting where a new Mayor was to be elected, a nomination came from a council member and then another council member said "according to Robert's Rules of Order, no second is needed for any nomination for Mayor." Is this a true statement for governmental meetings? Isn't a second always needed for a nomination for an officer- or this case a Mayor?
