hmtcastle Posted January 25, 2011 at 09:26 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 09:26 PM May a member attending via teleconference participate in a ballot vote? No, not unless your bylaws permit such absentee voting.A member on the phone is not attending. And ballots can't be pushed through wires.
Gary Novosielski Posted January 25, 2011 at 10:12 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 10:12 PM May a member attending via teleconference participate in a ballot vote? How? I mean he can write his vote on a piece of paper, but then what?If you figure out a way to do that, tell us what it is, and we'll try to figure out whether it's valid. (Presuming the attendance via teleconference is permitted by the bylaws in the first place, of course.)
Josh Martin Posted January 25, 2011 at 10:44 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2011 at 10:44 PM May a member attending via teleconference participate in a ballot vote?A member attending via teleconference may not vote at all unless teleconferences are authorized by your Bylaws. If it is authorized, having him vote in a ballot vote is more of a practical problem than a parliamentary one. You would need to figure out some way that he could vote without anyone else knowing how he voted.
