Guest Ross Wilson Posted October 22, 2014 at 05:29 PM Report Share Posted October 22, 2014 at 05:29 PM Our church is about to elect a pastor search committee which, according to our bylaws, "will consist of nine (9) members." The nominees (65) have been submitted by members of the church. The nominees receiving the highest number of votes will be elected. If, at some point, one or more members resign for whatever reason, what is the proper approach for replacing them? Should we use the previous ballot, minus those already elected, or do we need to start from scratch?
Edgar Guest Posted October 22, 2014 at 06:03 PM Report Share Posted October 22, 2014 at 06:03 PM Start from scratch (unless your bylaws provide for filling mid-term vacancies).
Gary Novosielski Posted October 22, 2014 at 06:21 PM Report Share Posted October 22, 2014 at 06:21 PM Well, you start from scratch, but only for the one or two members whom you need to replace.
