  1. I am wondering if anyone can help me understand the meaning of "elected at large." Here is an example from a set of bylaws: "5.2.2. The President-Elect shall be elected at large, shall serve in that office for one (1) year, and shall automatically assume the office of President in the subsequent year. At the end of their term as President, the individual shall automatically remain on the Board of Directors for a one-year term as Immediate Past President." I understand the meaning of "at-large" when it is associated with a specific member of the board (such as "director at-large), but in the context above, I'm not quite certain. Does it imply that all members vote?
  2. Is it allowed for a director who was committed to serve a two-year term, resign after a year and then apply for another board position? The bylaws for this group do not cover such and the only reference to term served is in the following excerpt: 4.2.1. The President, President‑Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Immediate Past President shall serve as directors by virtue of the office he or she holds. These directors shall serve on the board until they no longer hold their respective offices.
