Guest Kathy Posted February 11, 2011 at 06:12 PM Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 at 06:12 PM Our Board has four standing Board committees that meet/call monthly or more often. Official minutes are kept and have always been approved at the next meeting/call if a quorum is present. A new committee chair is asking if it's necessary to approve the minutes and does it have to be by motion. I have Robert's 10th, too, and read that Board minutes can be approved by unanimous consent, but found nothing about committee minutes approval. On page 483 it says that . . . "In small committees, the chairman usually acts as secretary . . . to keep a brief memorandum in the nature of minutes for the use of the committee." FOR THE USE OF THE COMMITTEE. . . does that mean that they do not 1) have to be approved; 2) archived; 3) made available to members? Thanks!Kathy
George Mervosh Posted February 11, 2011 at 06:19 PM Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 at 06:19 PM Correct, though it might be hard to have them for the use of the members if the members don't have a copy.
