Guest mountaineer Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:21 PM At a board meeting, majority voted to pass said motion. Following, the meeting absent board members were told about the action and have now stated they want a new discussion to be opened at the next meeting. Can an action/vote be overturned after it has already passed? Who has the right to rescind the original motion if that can even be done?

Rev Ed Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:36 PM Report Share Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:36 PM However, if action has already been taken before the next meeting then there may be too late to amend or rescind the action.
Robert B Fish Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:41 PM Report Share Posted February 14, 2011 at 05:41 PM If one of the members who wishes to rescind the motion gives notice of that intent, the motion can be rescinded with a majority vote of those present and voting. Otherwise, a majority of the entire membership or 2/3 vote of those present and voting is needed.-Bob
