Guest Confused Posted February 22, 2011 at 02:53 AM Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 at 02:53 AM I belong to the Police Athletic league youth football program, and we used to have 1 director and 8 board members. About 2 weeks ago all 8 board members resigned due to the fact that the director does not want to follow the bylaws. And in one meeting the board voted and the director decided to overturn the vote. Now as per the bylaws she can appoint new board members with board member approval. She currently appointed her husband as asst director (asst director does not have to be board approved to be appointed of position Asst. Director) and she has only one board member that didn't resign (Team parent Coordinator) and one that she appointed (Sgt at arms) that must be voted in by the board. Does this league have a board, what constitutes 2/3 quorum?? How can we fight this and get this director removed??"
jstackpo Posted February 22, 2011 at 06:57 AM Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 at 06:57 AM Without the exact text of your bylaws to look at - which would spell out exactly what powers the Director has - it isn't possible to answer your questions. No, please don't post them here, we aren't a bylaws review service.I suggest you find a parliamentarian for personal consultations. However, the fact that all (?) eight board members left the board leaves you (them?) in a very weak position to do much of anything. Are you still a member of the association? Does the association, not the board itself, have any powers in this matter, per your bylaws. Read them carefully.
