peaches70 Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:11 PM Report Share Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:11 PM At our annual meeting several motions were made. when the typed minutes were posted the motion wording was not there, just the name of the person who made the motion and the person who seconded the motion then the vote count. Does the wording for a motion need to be stated in the typed minuted?.
jstackpo Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:16 PM Report Share Posted March 9, 2011 at 04:16 PM Well, the text of all the (main) motions should be in the official record which is the "minutes". Whether what was posted was supposed to be the oficial record of "what was done" -- RONR, p.451 ff. -- is up to you to figure out.

Does the wording for a motion need to be stated in the typed minuted?.Are these minutes a draft or have they been approved? There should be an opportunity to offer amendments. Ideally, you have a church council or some type of board, and at their next meeting those minutes could be addressed, corrected, etc.(RONR p 457 ll 20-32), or even by an appointed committee.
