Committee reports

If an organization has a standard format for conducting meetings which includes standing committee reports is it normally an accepted practice that those committees can present motions during their report or should they wait until the time when new business is on the agenda?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Dan - the Chairman of the group working on by-law changes. Thank you.

If the report of a committee contains a recommended resolution, the reporting member, after the report is presented, moves the adoption of the resolution that was just read.

I agree. And, if, for some reason, the reporting member fails to make the obvious motion, the chairman can call upon him to do so or just assume the motion has been made by stating the question.
