Chris Harrison Posted March 26, 2011 at 06:12 PM Report Share Posted March 26, 2011 at 06:12 PM Can a member of the public get access to Executive Session minutes? If yes, what is the procedure? The purpose of an Executive Session is to keep the proceedings secret from nonmembers (under the pain of discipline if that secrecy is violated without permission of the body). The only way procedurally that a nonmember can (properly) get access to the minutes is if the body votes to allow it.

If yes, what is the procedure?According to RONR, only members have a right to access the minutes. If you have reason to believe state sunshine laws apply to this organization, you may want to consult an attorney for guidance.
