hmtcastle Posted April 5, 2011 at 12:53 PM Report Share Posted April 5, 2011 at 12:53 PM Can the President call a Committe Report out of order?People can be out of order and motions can be out of order but I'm not sure how a report could be out of order (though the making of the report could be).If, for example, the report contained inappropriate remarks about a member, the member giving the report could be ruled out of order but not, I think, the report itself. It's not like you'd ask the report to leave the room.

Kim Goldsworthy Posted April 5, 2011 at 11:11 PM Report Share Posted April 5, 2011 at 11:11 PM Can the President call a Committee Report out of order?Who else?If the given report is indeed not in order, then indeed, it is the duty of the chair [not the president] to rule it out of order. That's the job of a good chair -- to make rulings.Q. Was the report in order, or not in order?
