sangamonese Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:14 PM Report Share Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:14 PM I keep reading about the possibility of a new edition. How will this impact the available CD of the current edition and can anyone tell me if the current CD (the version for Windows 7) is problem free??I would really like to get this CD.TIA,Karen Mills
Robert B Fish Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:16 PM Report Share Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:16 PM If your bylaws say something like "The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised shall govern the Society..." then you will need the new CD containing the 11th Edition of RONR.My CD works fine with Win7 but your configuration might differ.-Bob

sangamonese Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:26 PM Author Report Share Posted April 5, 2011 at 03:26 PM Wouldn't it be enough to just have a copy of the book?Thanks.. I am sure it would be enough to just have a copy of the book, but I am really wanting the CD and if the new edition is just around the corner I might opt to wait since the CD is a significant expense and I already have three copies of the current RONR Karen
Shmuel Gerber Posted April 6, 2011 at 01:00 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2011 at 01:00 AM Thanks.. Of course, it will still show the text of the 10th edition. :-)The date of publication for the 11th edition has been announced as being toward the end of September 2011. jstackpo Posted April 6, 2011 at 01:40 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2011 at 01:40 AM A note of warning: The CD is strictly a Windows critter. So us true-blue Mac people are left in the cold (unless we spring for a Windows emulator code, but why would anybody want to do that? After you've seen Paris, and all...). You can even run a Windows desktop as a Mac application.
jstackpo Posted April 6, 2011 at 02:43 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2011 at 02:43 AM Quite so - I misused the term "emulator", but the main point still holds. Why turn a silk purse into a sow's ear?
