The secretary will again be absent at the next regular meeting. Can, and should, the minutes (at this point of two precious meetings) be read by another officer? "Reading" minutes might have made sense in 1911, but not 2011. Why don't you just distribute a draft copy and members can read them. We have copiers, word processing programs on personal computers and inexpensive printers in 2011. Also, if the minutes are lengthy, then perhaps they contain what was "said" and not just what was "done". Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If an orgzanization does not wish to follow that rule, they would need to adopt a special rule of order to specify that they will not be read.
