Guest Art Fifer Posted September 11, 2011 at 03:45 PM Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 at 03:45 PM We have a particular member of our elected body who has exhibited hostile behavior at our most recent meeting. He has argued with the Chair of the committee since our annual change-over last spring and the Parlamentarian via email up until the meeting about two weeks ago. He told the current Chair, when they were the Vice-Chair last year, that he would make theri "life miserable, this year for disagreeing and questioning a motion he had made to the body during a meeting. During our most recent meeting he was disrespectful to both the Chair and the Parlamentarian, shouting over them and others in attendacne when they questioned his actions or motions. He yelled and point his finger at a member of his comittee during the meeting for questioning how one particular motion was discussed and brought out of committee to the board, calling her a "bald faced liar".As former Chair of this board I find this behavior disfunctional, embarassing, hostile boarding on threatening, and frankly embarassing. Is there anything in Roberts Rules to sanction and/or mute this person and possibly remove them from the board?Since this meeting he has met privately with the person who he called a liar in public and demanded her resignation for questioning him and calling him a liar, which did not happen.
