Guest jdfowler54 Posted October 8, 2011 at 07:28 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 at 07:28 PM A special meeting was called to fill two elected officer's positions that have resigned; do the appointed officers have to resign the appointed positions before they can run for an elected office? Tim Wynn Posted October 8, 2011 at 07:55 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 at 07:55 PM ... do the appointed officers have to resign the appointed positions before they can run for an elected office?Check your bylaws for restrictions placed on individuals being nominated, elected, or serving in office. "Running" for an office is not a clear concept. RONR places no restrictions on which individuals can be nominated or elected.
Guest jdfowler54 Posted October 8, 2011 at 09:02 PM Report Share Posted October 8, 2011 at 09:02 PM I meant nominated or elected (not run for office). The bylaws state that there will be elected officers and appointed officers. The bylaws also state that the office of secretary and the office of treasurer may be combined and called "secretary-treasurer". Thanks, Jenny
